How should the perfect marketing email look?

When it comes to email marketing, the advantages are huge. You have the opportunity to contact thousands of prospective customers with a simple push of a button. Imagine how much it would cost you to send flyers and brochures to people from around the world. Also, an email allows you to add supplementary information, like graphics, videos, images and links, all those without having to pay extra. But there are also lots of things you need to be careful about when sending marketing emails.

Nowadays, most companies are sending this type of emails, which means that people are getting at in their inbox at least a few marketing emails every day. If you want your emails to stand out in the crowd, you must be very careful to the way they look. Find an interesting subject, to determine customers to open your email. Don’t add bulk information to your email – people will be bored by the insignificant details and in the future they won’t open your emails.

Ideally, a marketing email should contain the relevant information concentrated on top. Most people don’t bother to read the whole email, so make sure that the first two or three paragraph are reach in important information. If you want to say a lot of things, but you don’t want to bore your customers, you should go with links.

A short, catchy introductory paragraph is a must. Then, you can separate the information on categories or themes. Write a few sentences on every subject and add a link where interested customers can find supplementary information. Let’s say, for example, that you own a children clothes and toys website. In the first paragraph, you need to describe why people should rather buy from you then from others: good prices, quality products, you deliver fast and so on. Then, you should organize your offer on categories: baby clothes under one year, toddler clothes, clothes for 3 to 6 years children, baby toys, toddler toys, and so on. Dividing your products on categories will help your customers to find what they need faster and thus it will be more likely they will come to your site and buy. Let’s stay with the same example. If a busy mom starts reading your marketing email and acknowledges that you are selling children toys and clothes, she might not take the extra 10 or twenty minutes to see your website and find the exact products she is looking for. But, if you gave a lot of links to all the products categories, then she will probably link he one she needs and buy supply for her kids. Before sending the emails to your customers, make sure you preview them and correct all the errors.

The secret of well-done marketing emails consists of offering the interesting information for the customers, in an interactive, accessible form.
